Hope everyone is having a great Holiday season and look forward to a wonderful New Years! We are in the home stretch of the Community Planning meetings. There are a few Task Forces that felt it is necessary to hold second Action Plan meetings after the holidays rush was over. These meetings will be the last organized discussions before the Task Forces present their findings at a large community meeting. Please do your best to attend these last meetings!!!

Eastside Gallery

The Village of Eastside is welcoming a new art gallery to their storefronts. The Eastside Gallery is not your average art gallery, this unique co-operative project currently consists of 12 artists ranging in media from glass, ceramics, textiles, photography, painting and music. Join them for their Holiday Open House TONIGHT, Friday December 14 from 7 to 9 pm with snacks and spirited beverages, live music and great art!

“Hey, Little Walter”

East Liberty’s young stars are shining this weekend!
The Parental Stress Center presents the Youth Performing Arts Collective’s (YPAC) performance of “Hey, Little Walter” this Friday, December 14 at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater. Doors will open at 6:45 and the show will begin at 7:30 pm.

YPAC is a program through the Parental Stress Center, the Kelly-Strayhorn Theater, Phase4 Learning Center, 3 Rivers Computer Clubhouse and the Union Project which teaches the fundamentals of stage performing. Students learn various theatrical techniques through demonstrations, professional workshops and live performances.

Holiday Block Party at Union Project!

Get into the Holiday spirit with the Union Project’s Holiday Block Party tomorrow night, Tuesday December 11 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm! The party will feature family fun events; such as a visit from Santa, the Dilworth Elementary School Choir, free family craft activities, a dinner buffet ($5 for adults and $3 for kids), bake and wreath sales, cookie decorating and the 2nd ceramics sale.

Fairfield Apartments Grand Opening!

Fairfield Apartments, located on the corner of Penn Circle and Broad St., had its Grand Opening ceremony Thursday, December 16! Congratulations to all of the new residents, property management staff, owners, developer and everyone involved in bringing in these new homes. The apartments have had great success by reaching near-full capacity before their official grand opening, with only a few market-rate units left to rent.

Light Up Night

East Liberty wishes everyone Happy Holidays and a Merry Christmas! Begin this Holiday Season with your community and some festivity.

Please join Eastminister Presbyterian Church for the Light-Up Night Christmas Festival this coming Saturday, December 6th from 6-8pm. Carriage rides, food, an interactive version of “A Christmas Carol,” a petting zoo, camels and a live nativity will make for a great evening. The event starts at 6pm sharp with a parade led by camels, carriages and police cruisers coming down Highland Avenue.

The event is free of cost and all are welcome!
