Zanetta Wingfield opened Kokolatte’s this past November and hopes to expand the shops hours and open a patio space soon. She has a small staff of herself and three young ladies running the grill and coffee bar. Wingfield is pleased to chat with her patrons and this is definitely service with a smile!

Stop by to enjoy a creamy, blended coffee drink and a panini hot-off-the-press and you won’t be disappointed!

The Eastside Development is getting a swanky new addition! Richard Chen Pan Asian Cuisine will bring upscale, modern-Asian food to the already ethnically diverse restaurant district of East Liberty.

Richard Chen, the noted executive chef from the Las Vegas Wynn Hotel, decided to begin an independent venture in Pittsburgh partly because his wife is originally from the area.

“Finger food” is getting a serious upgrade. East Liberty proudly welcomes TANA, our second authentic Ethiopian Bar and Restaurant.

Offering a variety of meat dishes as well as many vegetarian entrées, TANA uses herbs and spices imported directly from Ethiopia to give each of its creations a unique flavor. True to its ethnic origins, dishes are served on a common plate and your hands are your utensils (though utensils are available on request for the less adventurous).

East Liberty has been visited by the “Sugar Fairy” and she is here to stay!! We are pleased to welcome the first new bakery to East Liberty in decades, Vanilla Pastry Studio.

April Gruver, owner, moved the bakery from the West End, looking for a larger space because people could not get enough of her sweets. The Post Gazette awarded Vanilla the “Best Cupcakes in Pittsburgh,” and it has only been up from there! Along with the cupcakes, Gruver’s “Lollys” are receiving quite a buzz and Vanilla is always looking to expand their menu through customer suggestions.

There is a new pizza shop in East Liberty and the people seem pleased! Pizza Sola, which originated on Carson Street in the South Side, has opened a store at 6004 Penn Circle South.

Pizza Sola prides itself on using quality ingredients and traditional techniques to bring great taste to their customers. These pizza slices are so big you need two paper plates to carry them!

Stop by, they are open from 11:30 am to 12 am during the week and until 1 am on Friday and Saturday. Eat in or carry out, either way you’ll enjoy!

Historically known as East Liberty’s Chamber of Commerce, the Werner Building, is now celebrating a cornucopia of multicultural initiatives. To celebrate, the business owners announce the “Warm Welcome to the Werner” Open House on TONIGHT Friday, March 14 from 6-9 PM.

The “Warm Welcome to the Werner” event TONIGHT! Friday March 14 from 6-9pm is meant to open the doors of the businesses in the building to the community to help educate it on what the building has to offer.

On the first floor, AVA and the Shadow Lounge are the cornerstone of Pittsburgh’s music and spoken word scene.
